"Shortly before the birth of my son I put my horse Hugo on competition livery with Rachael to make sure that he was kept busy whilst I wasn’t able to dedicate enough time to him. Rachael immediately figured out Hugo’s sensitive nature and established a lovely relationship with him, giving him confidence in the more advanced movements and helping him to physically mature. She did a wonderful job in helping him develop the correct muscles and learn to work more thoroughly from behind and always rode him sympathetically and patiently.
Throughout the year Hugo was with her, Rachael always kept me regularly updated in his progress, sending me photos from her schooling sessions, texting me with comments from her trainer as well as advising me when Hugo had been given an extra special massage! Her entire team always made to feel very welcome when I visited Hugo both at her yard and at shows and I now also consider her a good friend. Over the course of almost a year together she took Hugo from Elementary level to competing at Advanced Medium level, with many wins and successes along the way. If only I had won the lottery, I would have kept Hugo with Rachael indefinitely, as I’m certain that with her guidance he could have continued to move up the levels and gone on to even greater success. I look forward to using her as a trainer in the future and if I’m ever in a position to put a horse on competition livery again, she would be the first person I would call."

"Rachael has been helping and training Faye and I for nearly 4 years now. Faye was a very green baby and Rachael would school Faye on a regular basis with very clear and effective schooling techniques. Always kind and understanding to her specific requirements. She helped me understand how to ride Faye effectively and correctly. We have now gone on to compete with much success and Rachael continues to support us, helping us warm up at shows and stay focused. It’s great to have a trainer that is not only a great friend but also enjoys working with us as a partnership, with such enthusiasm and passion for dressage."
"Rachael Lane and I have had a competition horse, Millie, in partnership for the past three years. Millie has lived at Ley Farm with the Clark/Lane family during this time.
Elmtree dressage is the perfect set up for horses with everything available to serve their needs.
Rachael, herself is a wonderful rider and dressage competitor, her many excellent results, including National wins are testament to this. She has achieved success on many different horses, training them from novice to advanced. Her training methods, whilst striving for success, are always used with consideration their level of ability and wellbeing.
The farm itself lends itself to every form of training as there are so many benefits which include off road hacking and hard ground for horses needing rehabilitation.
Amanda Hitchcox is head groom and is dedicated to the welfare of all her charges and to the smooth running of this excellent yard."

I’ve been training with Rachael for the last 2 years, just after my new horse Collie arrived. We have made very good progress under her guidance. She helped me get to know and build a partnership with him. Rachael is very encouraging and personally interested in her clients and their horses, whatever their level, and is good at explaining what the rider needs to do to get a better result. She encourages high standards and a correct way of going, but develops a step-wise individual approach to fit the capability of her pupils and their horses. She rides beautifully and can sometimes accelerate our progress by showing Collie new movements by riding him herself. The facilities at Elmtree are excellent so you can always have your session whatever the weather and use whichever arena is appropriate.
